Umbrella Care Management, the region’s premiere provider of professional care management services, is proud to welcome new Care Manager Vicki Basilio, R.N. to its team of geriatric care professionals.

Umbrella Care Management, formerly 1 Call Care Management, provides comprehensive care management services throughout the entire New York/New Jersey metropolitan area. Umbrella’s primary focus is maintaining the wellbeing, independence, and dignity of seniors and dependent adults while balancing the special needs and problems of families caring for them.

As a care manager, Mrs. Basilio assists older adults and persons with disabilities in addressing issues related to health, social needs, and psychological, functional, and legal/financial status. In addition, she coordinates ongoing care and serves as an experienced guide and resource for families of older adults and others with chronic needs.

“Navigating home care, housing options, or medical needs of a family member can be daunting - particularly if also facing the constraints of distance and time - but the right guidance can make all of the difference in the world,” said Barbara Wilhelmy, President of Umbrella Care Management. “Vicki is a true patient advocate who has the case management experience to improve each patient’s quality of life and alleviate the stress and pressure placed on family members.”

Mrs. Basilio comes to Umbrella Care with over 20 years of experience in medical surgical nursing, health maintenance organization, compliant documentation implementation, and case management. While with Orange Regional Medical Center (Middletown, NY), Basilio acted as an intermediary between patients, physicians, and healthcare institutions. Her role involved providing patients and their families with support, healthcare information, potential referral services, and discharge treatment plans. She has also served as a Utilization Review R.N. with Fidelis Care (Yonkers, NY), and as a Lead R.N. at Community Health Plan (New Windsor, NY, now closed).
